Windemere View Elementary School is a true neighborhood school with a "small town" feel. We have about 200 students, ranging from Kindergarten through 4th grade. Our school is tucked in a quiet neighborhood on a dead-end street. Each classroom overlooks the Grand River. We love our quiet, peaceful setting!
Windemere View has earned an "A" AYP grade for the past four years. We have recently become Advanced Ed / North Central Accredited – one of only very few schools in our state to receive this highly prestigious distinction. Our Reading and Math MEAP scores are some of the highest in the area. We offer a rigorous curriculum that is aligned with the current Grade Level Content Expectations for the State of Michigan. Our School Improvement Goals include improving reading comprehension, writing, and basic computation and operations in math. Along with a rigorous academic program, students experience physical education, art, Spanish, library, and music each week.
There are many things that are unique about Windemere View! We have our own school vegetable garden, our own flower garden, our own school song, a before school math club, and a wonderful Exceptional Learning Program. We are very proud of our parent participation rate – over 98% of our parents attend parent teacher conferences each year. We welcome parent volunteers both during the day and after school for activities. We also have a very active Parent Teacher Organization. This parent organization sponsors our field trips, three book fairs each year, many evening family activity nights, and many activities designed to support our students and parents throughout the school year.
Every child that walks through the door of Windemere View is celebrated, loved and nurtured. We are very proud of our school!
