Rock For Doc Concert Charity Fund Raiser 05/29/2009
On Sunday, June 7th, 2009 from 4 - 10 p.m., there will be a charity rock concert called Rock For Doc at Waverly High School. The profits from this event will be donated to Dr. Ron Fandrick, a Waverly High School teacher who was badly injured in a house fire in March of 2009. Tickets for the concert are $5. Tickets are general admission and will be available at the door starting at 3:00 p.m. on the day of the show.
"There has been a tremendous outpouring of support for Dr. Fandrick", said event co-producer Casey Chahine. "He’s touched so many lives and this benefit is just one way to thank him and help out the family during this stressful time."
Eight bands will be featured on the auditorium main stage and other artists will be featured on the auditorium side stage. Main stage acts include: Don’t Ever Tell, Powerlight, Fade To Black, Jimmy Likes Pie, Minority Funk, Commodore Cosmos, Aggravated Mayhem, Matty P and the Trees, Raisins of Acquired Taste and Joni Mitchell Revival Band.
Side stage artists include: Braille Internets, Jimmy Clyde and Torian Bridges, Eric Dawe and more.
Local vendors will be selling food and beverages with part of the proceeds going to Dr. Fandrick. Games and activities will also be available. Music Manor is donating the use of a P.A. system for the bands. For more information, please visit www.rockfordoc.com
