The Waverly Alumni Association Board of Directors announced three $750.00 scholarships for graduating Waverly seniors. The winners will be revealed at the Waverly High School Honors Assembly on June 9, 2005, 7:00 pm in the Waverly High School Auditorium.

 

The Board of Directors is accepting applications from 2005 Waverly seniors who have at least one parent (mother or father) who also graduated from Waverly High School. The Waverly Alumni Association wishes through this award to recognize the legacy effect of parents who have chosen to continue to reside in our district and have their children obtain a similarly fine public education through the Waverly Community Schools. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required for all applicants. Applications are available in the High School Counseling Office, High School Activities Office, or by calling 517-319-3019 or e-mail the Association Director, Joseph W. Yarbrough, at jyarbrough@gw.waverly.k12.mi.us.  The application is posted on the district's web site.

 

Applications will be accepted until Wednesday, May 4, 2005, 12:00 noon, in the office of the Alumni Association Director, Educational Services & Administrative Center, 515 Snow Road, Lansing, MI 48917.

 

The Waverly Alumni Association was established in 1998 by the Waverly Board of Education. The current Alumni Board of Directors are: Sandy Autenrieth, Sue Stock, Cheryl Farhat, Doug Salisbury, Eric Glohr, Eldon McGraw, Rob Spagnuolo and Joseph W. Yarbrough.

 

Scholarships for graduating seniors have been provided by the Alumni Association for the last five years. Scholarships are funded by donations received from alumni, businesses, and community members as well as fund raising activities.
