The Waverly Softball Program is once again offering girl's youth softball summer teams in 10U, 12U and 14U age brackets for the 2009 Summer Season.
Practices will start in late April, with games being held during weeknight evenings during June and July. Games will begin June 1st this year. These games will be played in the Tri-County area, which is Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties. The guidelines for each age group are as follows:
10U Age 10 or under as of January 1, 2009
12U Age 12 or under as of January 1, 2009
14U Age 14 or under as of January 1, 2009
Once teams are established, it will be determined whether or not they will be beginner or advanced teams based on the skill levels of each team. It is also a possibility depending on the turn-out that there could be multiple teams in each age bracket.
The player's fee/cost to participate is $90.00 with a discount of $15.00 for any additional players in the same family. The player fee covers the league fees, umpire fees, equipment and uniform. The player fees will be due at registration. Once practices begin, each player will need to have a glove and cleats (non-metal). A player may want to purchase their own helmet and batting gloves, but these items are optional. If purchasing a helmet, they must have aNOCSAE-approved face mask/guard protector. Bats are also optional and must be National Federation and MHSAAA approved.
We are also looking for coaches. If you would be interested in being a coach, please indicate that on the form when registering your daughter. Without coaches, we can not have a successful program!
