Periodic Update Application

Our world changes dramatically in what seems to be a short period of time! In order for Waverly to continue to address the needs of our students, we need to periodically address our change efforts so that they guide the district appropriately. The Periodic Review is a way for the district's planning efforts to adjust to our world today, and what our highest aspirations are for Waverly in the future. Planning teams are designed to include a wide and representative scope of the community, but they are limited to thirty participants. Every effort will be made to include all that apply, but final decisions on participation will be focused on having voices on the team from the many interests across Waverly.

*Qualifications:
? Waverly resident or parent
? or Waverly business owner
? willing to spend Thursday, April 28th (8:00 AM - 10:00 PM) & Friday, April 29th (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM), and a day in February 2006 to work on the future of Waverly.
? from any walk of life
? primary qualification is that you care about the future of Waverly

Please send your completed Application for Participation form to Joseph Yarbrough, Waverly Community Schools, 515 Snow Road, Lansing, MI 48917 or fax to (517) 321-8577.  The form is also available on the district's web site under Strategic Planning/Periodic Review Application. E-mail is also fine. Just include all the requested information in an e-mail to: jyarbrough@gw.waverly.k12.mi.us.

* The Periodic Review Team will consist of individuals who participated in the 2001-2002 Thorough Review and would like to continue participation, and new individuals who would like to participate.

Starting in 1994 the district began the strategic planning process. On August 14, 1995 the district's first Strategic Plan was adopted by the Board of Education. As a result of the 2001-2002 Thorough Review of the Strategic Plan, the Board of Education adopted the 2002-2007 Strategic Plan on March 11, 2002. The Strategic Plan  is posted on the district's web site at www.waverly.k12.mi.us. Implementation work will continue on the 2002-2007 Strategic Plan while we move into the Periodic Review.
