Waverly 12U Girls Softball Team wins Championship 07/26/2006 The Waverly Youth Softball Program would like to congratulate the Waverly 12U girls softball team in winning the 12U Upper Division Championship.
The girls total record, with tournament was 10-7-1. The team played a total of 16 regular season games and two tournament games. The 1st tournament game played was July 17, 2006, with a win over Holt-Tee to Green Printing, 13-4. The 2nd tournament game played was July 19, 2006, with the championship win over Lakewood Blue Bombers 7-1.
Hightlights of the game: Pitcher DeAnna Stickler Gatson pitched the championship game and struck out 13 of the 21 batters. The remainder of the batters got out when centerfielder, Noelle Miles made an outstanding catch when a ball was popped out to centerfield, 1st Baseman Carole Harris made a catch at first and short stop, Michaella Graham stopped three steals, two at second and the last out of the game at third.
