Windemere View Participates In 05/16/2006
On Wednesday, May 3rd, students and staff from Windemere View Elementary School jumped rope for five minutes on the school playground. All students, and many staff jumped rope simultaneously for “ACES with-a-Friend 2006” (All Children Exercising simultaneously) and “Jump Rope for Heart.” It was quite a sight, seeing a large group jumping rope together. One student looking out the window as he was on his way to join the group exclaimed, “Wow, look at all those people!”
“ACES” is a state-wide activity sponsored by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness. “Jump Rope for Heart” is sponsored by the American Heart Association. Both events are designed to promote the importance of exercise for healthy living.
Along with the morning jump rope activity several staff and students walked on the walking track together during the lunch recess. Everyone had a great time out in the warm sun, exercising, chatting with each other, and most of all promoting a healthy life-style!
Everyone gets involved in "ACES", and "Jump Rope for Heart"!
