Waverly Students Host Fundraiser

01/31/2005
The Rock-A-Thon is a fundraiser that Interact, a Waverly High School community service club, has chosen to partake in to raise money for the cystic fibrosis foundation. Interact members will rock in rocking chairs from 2:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday February 4, 2005 in the Waverly High School gym commons area. Money can be donated by hourly donations or one lump sum. If you would like to donate, you can contact Mary Faber at Waverly High School at (517) 323-3831. Waverly Interact is a community service club dedicated to improving the community. It is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Lansing. The club was created last year by teacher Mary Faber and students Leslie Fitzwater, Takesha Leavell, Ashley Roberts, and Chritopher Roe. The club has blossomed into a group of 15- 20 students. Previous club activities have included donating cards to meals-on-wheels and volunteering at the soup kitchen for the Volunteers of America.
