WHS Technological Society Announces Award Winners 06/21/2005 On Wednesday June 15th, the Waverly Technological Society hosted their sixth annual awards night in the High School Auditorium. Tech Society advisor Ryan Covey started the presentation with a Power Point presentation of pictures from thru out the school year.
First thing of the night was the induction of student apprentices into the WHS Technological Society. To achieve membership the apprentices are required to earn 400 points from working events like, band, orchestra, & choir concerts. They also get points and are required to participate in at least one of the following: The Musical, the Play, and the Tech Society Production.

In addition, the sustaining members received activity letters for their participation this year. A sustaining member must gain 400 points and work at least one musical, or play production during the year.
This year the WHS Tech Society honored seven individuals with Honorary Membership into the Tech Society for there contribution to the group. The Honorary members inducted where:

As is the Tech Society Tradition there were several special awards given out during the night:
The Golden Hammer Award was presented by Rita Deibler and is given to the student who displays the best and most innovative ability to build, dress sets, and or props. This year’s winner was:
Simon Purdy
The Stagehand of the Year Award was presented by last year’s winner Stephanie Johnson and is given to the student who shows a unique ability to work backstage during live shows, and the ability to work under pressure to perform. This year’s winner was:

The Underclass Stage Technician of the Year was presented by last year’s winner Simon Purdy and is presented to the best technician who is in ninth or tenth grade. This year’s winner was:
Alex Chapman
The Upper-class Stage Technician of the Year is presented to the best technician who is in the 11th or 12th grade. This year’s winner was:

The Directors Award is given and presented by the Director of The Night of January 16th Ken Manning. He said he gave this award to the winner because they took a role at the last minute and made it their own. This year’s winner was:

The Chicken Ducky Awards are given out for the best performance by a Stage Technician in a non-techie role. I.e. Acting on Stage. This years Musical Chicken Ducky Award was given to:

This years Spring Play Chicken Ducky Award was given to:
Amber Cooley as Defense Attorney Stevens
In the Night of January 16th
This years Tech Production Chicken Ducky Award was given to:

The Tech Society gives out it's annual Volunteer of the Year award to community members who volunteer their time and talents to advance the Technological Society. This year we had three winners. They were:

The final award of the night was the Stage Technician of the Year. This award goes to the best technician in the Tech Society. This year’s winners are:
