Waverly Alumni Association Scholarships Announced 06/16/2005 $2,250 in Scholarships Announced by the Waverly Alumni Association. Scholarship Winners Were Announced June 9, 2005 at the Waverly Honors Assembly.
The Waverly Alumni Association Board of Directors announced three $750.00 scholarships for graduating Waverly students. The winners were announced at the Waverly High School Honors Assembly on June 9, 2005 in the Waverly High School Auditorium.
The Board of Directors accepted applications from 2005 Waverly seniors who had at least one parent (mother or father) who also graduated from Waverly High School. The Waverly Alumni Association wishes through this award to recognize the legacy effect of parents who have chosen to continue to reside in our district and have their children obtain a similarly fine public education through the Waverly Community Schools.
Graduating seniors Christopher Ford, William Forgrave, and Stephanie Krive were the recipients of the 2005 Waverly Alumni Association scholarships. Mr. Ford will attend Michigan State University, Mr. Forgrave will attend Albion College and Ms. Krive will attend Michigan State University.
The Waverly Alumni Association was established in 1998 by the Waverly Board of Education. The current Directors of the Alumni Board are: Sandy Autenrieth, Cheryl Farhat, Eric Glohr, Sue Stock, Eldon McGraw, Rob Spagnuolo and Joseph Yarbrough, Director.
Scholarships for graduating seniors have been provided by the Alumni Association for the last five years. Over $18,000 in scholarships have been awarded to graduating seniors over that time. Scholarships are funded by donations received from alumni, businesses, and community members as well as through fund raising activities.
