At the September 27, 2011 Delta-Waverly Rotary Club luncheon, Rachel Weinfeld, a Waverly High School senior, was recognized as the Delta-Waverly Rotary Club Student of the Month. Rachel and her parents, Colleen and Arnold Weinfeld, also attended the luncheon as guests. Rachel is the first recipient of this award.

Rachel was presented with a certificate by Mary Stucko, President of the Delta-Waverly Rotary Club. Waverly Superintendent Dr. Debra Jones also attended the luncheon in support of Rachel and her recognition. Rachel spoke to the Rotary Club members about her accomplishments and plans for the future. Rachel commented, "It’s great to be recognized for achievements in and out of the classroom."

Rachel participates in the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Interact (a community service club), Reflections (Waverly High School vocal performance group), and she has performed in four plays and musicals at Waverly High School. Rachel plans on attending college next year and majoring in musical theater. "I have been in dance since I was three years old. I participate in the musical theater program at Waverly High School and I enjoy performing in productions with my friends."
