Achieved Perfect Scores
Three Waverly Community Schools students achieved perfect scores on the SAT test.
Matthew Borton, Andrea Silva and Joyraj D'Souza, three seniors from Waverly High School, were recently notified they had achieved perfect scores on their SAT exams.
"The SAT® is a widely-used admission test. Many colleges accept either the SAT or ACT, but some require one or the other. The SAT measures students' verbal reasoning, critical reading, and math problem solving skills. It tells colleges how well students use the skills and knowledge they've learned so far, both in and out of school."*
Matthew Borton achieved a perfect score on the SAT math section. Matthew commented, "I feel like I achieved what I wanted to achieve in math. It was a great accomplishment." Matthew plans on attending Michigan State University and pursue majors in electrical engineering and business. "If I am going to be an engineer, I will need math. My math will help me with problem solving skills."
Andrea Silva achieved perfect scores in writing and biology in the SAT. Andrea commented, "I was surprised. I didn't think that I was going to score that high." She plans on attending Michigan State University's Honors College and major in molecular biology and psychology. On her time as a student at Waverly High School, Andrea said, "Waverly was very flexible with introducing challenging classes."
Joyraj D'Souza achieved a perfect SAT score in the verbal section. Joyraj was not available for comment.
