Waverly High School Technological Society Awards Night 06/03/2005
6th Annual Awards Presentation June 15th, 2005
The Waverly High School Technological Society will be holding their 6th Annual Awards presentation on Wednesday, June 15th, 2005 at the Waverly High School Auditorium located at 160 Snow Road, Lansing. The presentation of the awards will begin at 7:00 p.m.
The Technological Society is responsible for all events that take place in the Waverly High School auditorium. All members of the club are experts with lighting, sound and stage matters. There are currently 18 members in the Technological Society. Thirty five students have participated in the club during the last six years.
The awards for this year are: Technician of the Year, Upper-class (11th and 12th grade) Tech of the Year, Underclass (9th and 10th grade) Tech of the Year, Golden Hammer Award (the outstanding builder), Stagehand Award (best backstage worker), Director's Award for the Spring Play (The spring director picks the technician who did the best in an on stage acting role), Technological Society Volunteer of the Year Award, Chicken Ducky Award (best on stage performance from a technician in an acting role). This year there will be one Chicken Ducky
award for the musical, one for the spring play, and one for the Technological Society production. Current members will receive an activity letter and membership into the club for next year. Apprentice members will get an activity letter and full membership into the Society for next year.
Students earn their letter and membership by working on a musical; spring play; Technological Society production; two band, choir and orchestra concerts. They also are required to assist in other events like the Battle of the Bands, PALS Assembly, Homecoming Assembly, Poetry Slam, and Senior Honors Night.
