Waverly Board of Education Request Support

05/31/2005
Support Senate Bill 246 and House Bill 4582
Proposed Legislation to Insure a Fund Increase for K-12 Public Schools

The Waverly Board of Education is requesting your support by participating in the "Rally for Public Education, June 21, 2005."

Since 2002, the state has cut $490 million from K-12 school funding forcing schools to layoff staff, increase class size and close buildings. Top priority must be given to public education by our state legislature. By supporting Senate Bill 246 and House Bill 4582 you will be a voice for Michigan's students.

The K-16 Rally for Public Education, sponsored by the K-16 Coalition for Michigan's Future, will be held June 21, 2005. The K-16 Rally will start at the Lansing Center at 12:00 noon with registration, 1:00 pm for a pre-rally, and a 2:00 pm march to the Capitol. For pre-registration and more information go online at: www.michigank16.org.

"Speak up for Michigan's students, the economy and our future."
