MS Mrs. Nixon Retires from Waverly

To the Parents of Mrs. Nixon’s 8^th grade History students:

On Friday, January 22, 2010 Mrs. Nixon retired from Waverly Community Schools. She will be greatly missed at the middle school.  We are fortunate, however, to have Mr. Brian Way able to step into the class and continue your child’s education without missing a beat.

Mr. Way completed his student teaching under the guidance of Mrs. Tate here at the middle school in 8^th grade History classes last spring, teaching the same curriculum that he is now sharing with your child. Mr. Way is a graduate of Michigan State University and is certified to teach History and Social Studies in grades 6-12. I have every confidence that he will continue to provide the excellent educational experience your child has enjoyed in the past.

Due to the recent computer issues experienced throughout the district, there will be a brief delay before Mr. Way will be available by email. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s progress, please contact the main office and messages will be given to him.

As always, I encourage you to talk with your child about her/his classroom experiences. Conversations that keep the lines of communication open are an essential part of your child’s emotional and educational development into productive adulthood.
