New Books In The Library! 05/04/2005
One of our favorite events in the library at Windemere View is when new books arrive! The "new book" cart is a busy place in the library each time a class visits! Everyone likes to see what's new! Perhaps your family has read some of the wonderful new titles that your child has brought home from the library during the course of the school year. Though the close of the school year is drawing near, new books continue to arrive. Below is a list of new arrivals at Windemere View this week.
Library books are selected and purchased based on curriculum needs, teacher and student requests, new and popular authors, and award winning books such as the Caldecott Medal, Newbery Medal and the Corretta Scott King Award. It is important to grow and maintain a library collection devoted to both the educational needs of our students as well as providing materials for pleasure reading. Children are curious and have interests in many different things. Library books provide them the opportunity to read about and explore their interests. When children enjoy what they are reading they are inspired to continue, setting up the habits of a life long reader.
Sit down tonight and enjoy a great book with your kids!
