Welcome to Waverly Community Schools Mathematics Home Page
We live in a decade where clear standards, research-based text materials, technology and web based resources are contributing to the understanding of important mathematics concepts for all of our students. We recognize that students have different interests and abilities. We also know that those who understand mathematics have opportunities that others do not.
For those who think that not all kids can do math, our staff and administration are planning and studying to ensure that they can. Waverly Community Schools are in the process of restructuring the mathematics curriculum to meet the new State of Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations. These more rigorous standards were introduced in March 2004 and will become the basis for annual testing in grades 3 through 8 in the 2005 school year as required by No Child Left Behind legislation.
